Abstract: (1.1) 2/25/94 Merlin's Apprentice is a puzzle game of intuition and discovery. Target audience is 12 - adult. The puzzles are designed to attract both males and females alike. The game begins with an animated prologue to establish the story. The three levels of play take you into an enchanted forest, inside Merlin's hidden laboratory, and down within underground catacombs. To win the game, you have to solve 27 puzzles and concoct 3 magic potions. As you solve each puzzle, you earn a magic ingredient to help mix a potion. When you complete a potion, it casts a magical spell. You are rewarded with a brief animation that advances the story and brings you to the next level. When you finish the game, you see an animated finale. The game is replayable, for each puzzle has multiple solutions.
